About Project
Client: Climos
Subject: animated ecological presentation
Period: 2007
Climos is exploring techniques for naturally removing large amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere. One such technique, Ocean Iron Fertilization (OIF), is based on a natural process that is one of the Earth’s primary natural mechanisms to remove carbon dioxide.
Climos asked me to create an on-line interactive presentation to help convey complex scientific processes involved in their ecological solution.
My Task
I worked with Climos to first understand the science behind their ecological solution. I then provided creative direction, and drew up sketches and storyboards. After receiving feedback and making adjustments to fine-tune an accurate representation of the Ocean Iron Fertilization process, I then created 2D and 3D graphic assets, and animated the presentation in Flash.
Result
Climos utilized the animated presentation to convey the Ocean Iron Fertilization (OIF) process to prospective business partners, clients, and the general public, thereby increasing understanding and opportunity for ecological sustainability.
